The Town Executives

The Town Executives: (Address of Town Executives were gradually changed from Capitan, to Presidente, then to Mayor)

During the Spanish period, the head of the town was called a gobernadorcillo or capitan municipal.  Usually the head was chosen every two years by drawing of lot whom the Spanish Parish Priest will select from among the prominent persons of the town with sufficient income and knowledge.  Later on during the American regime regular elections were held every three years then increased to four years, then it became six years then back to three years..  The following became the town executives.
